Other Volunteer Roles

Monitor Coordinator (Roberta Zenn)

Key Responsibilities

·       Train and recruit volunteer monitors

·       Create shifts in TeamReach (or software) for monitor sign-up

·       Communicate with Vice President who will modify list of monitors needing room access

·       Verify shift coverage

·       Request monitor coverage for open shifts

·       Communicate closures to members due to lack of monitor coverage


Monitor (Full)

Key Responsibilities

·       Follow documented instructions in the Clayground

·        Fill at least two shifts per month

·       Responsible for verifying membership of those working in the Clayground

·       Verify wheel qualification for those utilizing the wheel



Kiln Operations Coordinator (Laura Hiltabrand)

Key Responsibilities

·       Train and recruit volunteer kiln operators§  Schedule kiln firings

·       Train members to know how to protect the kiln 

·       Communicate firings and pickup times


Kiln Operator  (Diane Butler, Sharon Pianka)


Event/Class Schedule Coordinator (Regina Davis)

Key Responsibilities

·       Recruit Instructors for pottery classes

·       Schedule classes and events on club calendar

·       Coordinate with Lifestyle office/calendar when scheduling classes and events

·       Ensure class attendance is recorded

·       Ensure attendees have paid in a timely manner 

·       Ensure cancellations are handled in accordance with club refund policy


Instructors (Openings for wheel and hand-building)


Space/Organization Coordinator (Tiana Gooden and Mary Hoylman)

Key Responsibilities

·       Ensure club supplies and tools are kept in an organized manner

·       Verify members keep the Clayground tidy

·       Organize deep cleaning sessions

·       Recruit volunteers for deep cleaning sessions and other tasks

·       Ensure clay reclaim is handled

·       Ensure clay trap is emptied regularly

Orientation Coordinator (Marian LoGatto)

Key Responsibilities

·       Teach or recruit teachers for Orientation

·       Note: plans are underway to create an orientation video which can be viewed in the Clayground. Monitors will demonstrate the use of equipment and cleaning procedures.

·       Future: Ensure Orientation video is available and updated as required

·       Update software with Orientation completion date

·       Ensure new members are made aware of the process for completing orientation

·       Ensure monitors are aware of their role in the process for new members completing orientation


Glaze Coordinator (Laura Hiltabrand)

         Key Responsibilities

  • Create test tiles for new glazes
  • Provide glaze and glazing help documentation in studio and for website
  • Track glaze amounts and submit order info to President or Treasurer for restocking
  • Organize/Conduct glaze training classes, in conjunction with Class Scheduler


Marketing and Communication (Open Position)

Key Responsibilities

·       Maintain TeamReach Groups 

·       Maintain Facebook Group

·       Maintain Website Communication/Marketing

·       Create targeted marketing material/announcements for classes and events as needed

·       Work with board members and other volunteers to meet their communication needs


Software Administrator (Board)

Key Responsibilities

·       Manage access to software

·       Manage groups in software

·       Verify data quality


Website Content Manager (Grace McDermott)

Key Responsibilities

·       Create help documentation

·       Add and edit content, as needed
